Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) Commandant, Admiral Ronnie Gil L Gavan PCG, has directed the Coast Guard District National Capital Region - Central Luzon (CGDNCR-CL) to deploy 𝟏,𝟏𝟐𝟖 personnel to support the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), Philippine National Police (PNP) and Manila LGU in ensuring the safe, secure, and peaceful conduct of the Annual Feast of the Black Nazarene.
“We are expecting millions of devotees who will attend the series of activities during Black Nazarene Traslacion 2025. The PCG assists in ensuring public safety and security against possible risks, including terrorism, stampedes, fire within nearby areas, and natural disasters, such as an earthquake during the yearly Catholic commemoration,” Admiral Gavan shared.

The Coast Guard District Southern Visayas (CGDSV) has assisted in the humanitarian mission for over 6,800 families affected by the eruption of Mount Kanlaon. The mission took place at the ICP Municipal Hall La Castellana in Negros Occidental and Camp 5 at Panubigan Elementary School in Canlaon City, Negros Oriental, on 02 January 2025.
The beneficiaries received essential supplies such as food, water, medical aid, and temporary shelter tents. Livelihood support and psychological aid are also being extended to help families rebuild their lives.

GOOD NEWS: Philippine Coast Guard District Southern Visayas (CGDSV) Commander, Commodore Ludovico D Librilla Jr PCG welcomed the New Year with a heartwarming gesture of generosity and compassion through gift-giving activity to the residents at Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental on 31 December 2024.
This initiative was organized by members of the Coast Guard Officers’ Course (CGOC) Class 30-2023 “Bravo” aimed to spread joy, hope, and strengthen community bonds through lifting the spirit of Dumagueteños and emphasizing the importance of starting the year with acts of generosity and goodwill.
