The Commander of the Coast Guard District Southern Visayas, Commodore Luduvico Librilla Jr PCG, rendered a courtesy call to the Regional Director of Maritime Industry Authority (MARINA) VI, Mr Jeffrey Bangsa at Iloilo City yesterday, 19 December 2024.
During the recent meeting, officials from both agencies discussed the interagency collaboration through enhanced regulations and cooperative measures, which emphasized the shared commitment of both agencies to enhance the efficiency of maritime operations and promote safe and sustainable maritime practices. Key discussions included joint initiatives on maritime welfare, vessel safety inspections, and response readiness for maritime emergencies in the region.

The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) Skippers in West Philippine Sea and their personnel organized a community gift-giving activity for the students of Cristal Child Development Center in Barangay Buliluyan, Bataraza, Palawan on 16 December 2024.
Sharing the waves of kindness, BRP Cape Engaño (MRRV-4411) and BRP Malapascua (MRRV-4403) provided the 40 students of Cristal Child Development Center with assorted school supplies and Christmas loot bags.
This thoughtful initiative aimed to spread the spirit of giving and express gratitude to the community in Buliluyan.

The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) Commandant, Admiral Ronnie Gil L Gavan PCG, presided over the donning and oath-taking ceremony of newly appointed members of the PCG Auxiliary (PCGA) at Barangay Bachawan, San Agustin, Romblon, on 16 December 2024.
Congressman Eleandro Jesus Madrona, Representative of the Lone District of Romblon and a key advocate behind the enactment of Republic Act (RA) 9993 otherwise known as PCG Law of 2009, was inducted as Auxiliary Commodore of the PCGA in the province.
His induction, along with 15 municipal mayors of Romblon and 126 committed volunteers, marks a significant collaboration between the PCG and local government units aimed at enhancing maritime safety, search and rescue capabilities, and environmental protection initiatives.
