The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) Commandant, Admiral Ronnie Gil L Gavan PCG, spearheaded the oath-taking ceremony of 2,000 PCG draftees at the Coast Guard Fleet Parade Ground, Pier 13, Port Area, Manila, today, 09 December 2024.
During his speech, Admiral Gavan congratulated and extended his gratitude to 1,698 male and 302 female PCG draftees who answered the call of public service.
The Coast Guard Commandant reminded them that taking their oath into the PCG service meant surrendering some of their rights and volunteering to take on higher responsibilities as public servants.

The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) has welcomed BRP Gabriela Silang (OPV-8301) following its five-day Manado, Indonesia Port Visit at Pier 13, Port Area, Manila, today, 09 December 2024.
As the current Chairman of the ASEAN Coast Guard Forum (ACF), PCG Commandant, Admiral Ronnie Gil L Gavan PCG, said that the port visit underscored the PCG’s commitment to advancing maritime safety, security, and prosperity in the region through strategic cooperation and collaboration.
The Coast Guard Commandant emphasized that the fruitful exchange with the Indonesian counterparts has reinforced the maritime partnerships between two nations, underscoring the collective pursuit of peace, security, and sustainable progress within the ASEAN community.

The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) is gearing up its operating units to be on heightened alert for the upcoming Christmas season, starting from 20 December 2024 to 03 January 2025.
Anchored on the directive of Department of Transportation - Philippines (DOTr) Secretary Jaime Bautista to ensure safe, smooth, and convenient sea transportation during the Christmas season, PCG Commandant, Admiral Ronnie Gil L Gavan PCG, has instructed all PCG Districts, Stations, and Sub-Stations to intensify security and safety measures on all ports and ferry terminals.
This is to ensure the orderly operations of sea transport facilities, convenient travel of the seafaring public, peaceful celebration of Christmas, and security of tourists in beach and private resorts nationwide.
