The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) and the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR), aboard patrol vessel MCS-3009, successfully apprehended a fishing vessel for failing to respond to a radio challenge on Marine Band Channel 16, a critical frequency for maritime communication and safety in Manila Bay yesterday, 13 November 2024.
The MCS-3009, have seized a fishing vessel, identified by its bow markings “F/B DOM-4,” was navigating through the inbound channel of the Corregidor North Traffic Separation Scheme when the violation occurred.
During the intervention, PCG and BFAR personnel discovered that the vessel’s radio was malfunctioning — a serious maritime safety issue that compromises communication and coordination at sea.

The Coast Guard District Bicol (CGDBCL) activates its Deployable Response Groups (DRGs) in preparation for the anticipated impact of Typhoon "Pepito” in the Bicol region today, 14 November 2024.

The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), in coordination with local authorities, successfully rescued three crew members aboard a distressed sailing yacht "Annie Kim" near the waters off Barangay Binakas, Lubang, Occidental Mindoro on 13 November 2024.
The PCG Sub-Station (CGSS) Lubang received information about the yacht in distress on 11 November 2024. Upon receiving the report, CGSS Lubang promptly coordinated with the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) of Lubang and immediately launched a search and rescue (SAR) operation.
After receiving a distress report on 11 November 2024, PCG Sub-Station Lubang, in coordination with local authorities, launched a search and rescue (SAR) operation. The yacht, partially submerged due to severe weather, was located approximately 70 meters from the shore.
